Obituary of Julie Ann Hubbs

Of Mt. Morris, age 64, died Sunday, February 16, 2014, at her home. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Doug Klein will officiate cremation has taken place. Julie's family will be present at the funeral home on Tuesday to receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, Scholarship fund that will be set up at the Mt. Morris High School in her name, or to the Genesee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Julie was born November 25, 1949, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Robert and Virginia (Rothaar) Seibert. Julie graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, Class of 1967 and graduated from Central Michigan University, Class of 1971. She and William Hubbs were united in marriage June 12, 1971, in Battle Creek. Julie touched the lives of many students in the Mt. Morris School District as well as at Flint Southwestern Academy until her retirement in 2010. Julie was a member of Mt. Morris Kiwanis, Genesee County Herbal Society and Frankenmuth Mid-Michigan Unit of The Herbal Society of America, Flushing Book Club and the Detroit Bulldog Rescue. In her free time Julie loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren, gardening, traveling to Lake Leelanau, attending and selling crafts at local craft shows and watching her sons play and coach sports.
Left to cherish her memory, her husband Bill; two children; Jason (Carla) Hubbs, Kevin (Laura) Hubbs; four grandchildren, Taylor, Brady, Ellie, Avery; aunt Connie Smith; her two English Bulldogs Cooper and Emma; and many other family members and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Pete, aunt Helen Bramble and sister-in-law Judy Seibert.
