Obituary of Lena Maxson

Of Mt. Morris, age 74, died Friday, November 4, 2011, at Melody Brookwood Adult Foster Care Home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Chaplain Burt Davis will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Lena's family will be present at the funeral home on Tuesday to receive friends from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Marie was born January 13, 1937, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Fatima (Lemcool) Davis. She and Robert Maxson were united in marriage October 26, 1954. He preceded her in death. Marie leaves to cherish her memory five children, Ronald and wife, Vicki Maxson and Robert and wife, Dagmar Maxson; three daughters; Rhonda and husband, Dave Hammond, Sue and husband, Mike Lay, and Roxanne and husband, Darrell Tester; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters; special friend, Thelma Nations and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Melody Brookwood. With their love and care her journey was dignified and peaceful. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Maxson; two sisters and one brother.
