Obituary of Chlorina Payne

Of Mt. Morris, age 80, died Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Fostrian Manor. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Brad McFaul and Pastor Jimmy Watson will officiate with burial to follow in Davison Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the Mt. Morris Church of Christ or American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Chlorina was born July 20, 1931, in Red Jacket, West Virginia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin and Opal (Hall) Osborne. She and James Payne were united in marriage November 20, 1954; he preceded her in death March 16, 2009. Chlorina was an active member of the Mt. Morris Church of Christ since 1964. She enjoyed crocheting baby clothes and blankets, quilting and knitting; and she always gave it away to family and friends. She loved people and she loved to talk to them; she will be greatly missed. Left to cherish her memory are, two sons, Jim and wife, Linda Payne and Jason and wife, Mary Payne; five grandchildren, Lindsay, Zachary and Tyler Cross and Todd and Kristin Burke; two great-grandchildren, Preston and Autumn Burke; two sisters, Lola and husband, Bobby Senters and Lois and husband, Clell Fuller; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 54 years, James.
