Of Burton, formerly of Flint and Mt. Morris age 87, died Sunday, November 13, 2011, at The Pines of Burton. The funeral service will take place 1:30 pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Ron Shamel will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:30pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the Genesee County Humane Society or Hospice Advantage. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Betty was born November 2, 1924, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil and Hazel (Lane) Peterson. She and Jack Rowe were united in marriage December 24, 1943. He preceded her in death in October, 1950. She would later marry Eugene Boggs March 18, 1952. He preceded her in death in October 1974. She would later marry William Dignan and he preceded her in death. Betty worked for the Flint Board of Education for 21 years, retiring in 1987, as an Assistant Librarian at the Main Branch of the Flint Public Library. Betty was a long time member of the Sweet Adelines. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard and wife Donna Rowe, Carole and husband Henry Cameron, and Thomas Boggs; sister, Nancy and husband Ken Hopson; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; special cousin, Shirley Dipzinski; and many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Rowe; and sister, Connie.
