Of Mt. Morris, age 93, died Friday, December 13, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Fr. Jeffrey Robideau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Earl's family will be present at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services to receive friends on Monday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. On Tuesday evening, family, friends and parish will gather to Pray the Rosary at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church or School. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Earl was born October 18, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Marie (Kimbling) Robideau. Earl proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Earl and Helen A. Schings were united in marriage on October 26, 1946, at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio. Earl worked for Fisher Body (Ternstedt) for 29 years, retiring in 1983.
Earl was a devoted husband and father; he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, square dancing, traveling the United States, avid Ohio State fan and tinkering on cars. Earl and Helen were long time members of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris serving as sacristan for 30 years. He was also a long time blood donor for American Red Cross.
Left to cherish his memory, seven children, Sherry Robideau, Yvonne Robideau, John and wife Linda Robideau, Joe and wife Barbara Robideau, Michelle Robideau, James and wife Patti Robideau, and Father Jeffrey Robideau; sister Rita Beauregard; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen and parents.
