Of Clio, age 82, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at her home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. Dr. John D. Bailey will officiate with burial to follow in West Vienna Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm, and on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Dora was born November 6, 1929 in Clio, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Major and Nora (Eaton) Bovee. She and J. C. Bean were united in marriage in 1950 in Clio, Michigan. She was a Secretary for the Flint Board of Education for 30 years at Pierson and Neithercut Elementary Schools. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Gleaner Glen Arbor, Red Hat Society, Clio and Thetford Senior Centers.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Kay Bean of Clio, J.C. Jr. and wife Mary Jane Bean of Clio; three grandsons, Randall and wife, Amy Yost, Ryan and wife, Tanya Yost, and Kyle Bean; one granddaughter, Keri and husband, Michael Gustafson;
seven great grandchildren, Caylin and Logan Yost, Samantha Abdo, Michael and Elexia Yost, Hannah and Hayden Gustafson, sister, Violet Poe of Flushing; two brothers, Eugene and wife Nancy Bovee of Florida, DeWain and wife Marianne Bovee of Mt. Morris, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; beloved grandparents Carrie and David Eaton; step mother, Vera Bovee; two sisters, Dorothy and husband, Clifford Roupe and Doris and husband, Carl Barton; brother-in-law, Albert Poe.
