Obituary of Albert Hoornaert

Of Braunfels, Texas, formerly of Montrose, age 79, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home. A Mass of Christian burial will take place 10:00 am, Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the SS Charles & Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Gerald Ploof will officiate with burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Albert's family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services on Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Wednesday Evening family will gather together for a scripture service at 7:00 pm. On Thursday Albert will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:00 am until time of Mass at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers please direct memorial contributions to The American Red Cross. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Albert was born October 4, 1932, in Montrose, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Camel & Godelieve (Selschotter) Hoornaert. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Albert is survived by his wife, Rheba L. (Bankston) Hoornaert of New Braunfels; niece, Michelle Lansing; nephews, David O'Toole, Brian O'Toole & Theron O'Toole and brother-in-law, William "Bo" Bankston & wife, Rosemary.
