Obituary of Joyce E. Munsell

Of Clio, age 72, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at her home. The funeral service will take place 1:30 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dale Munsell will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Joyce's family will be present at the funeral home on Monday to receive friends from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and Tuesday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:30 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Toys for Tots. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Joyce was born June 8, 1939, in Lum, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Lillie (West) Burwell. She and Eugene Munsell were united in marriage June 22, 1957, in Flint, Michigan. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved holding babies, flowers, gardening, spending time at the cabin at Sanford Lake, touring Michigan lighthouses and collecting lighthouses and souvenir spoons. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Eugene; four children, Tammy (Tom) Allan, Mike (Dana) Munsell, Jeff (Kim) Munsell and Matt (Diana) Munsell; eight grandchildren, Michael Allan, Beau, Buck, Coty, Jacob and Jesse Munsell, Alisha Ferguson and Shyanne Brittain; the family cat, Jerry; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timmy; granddaughter, Sarah; sister, Eleanor Rice; three brothers, Charles, Glen and Jim Burwell; and brothers-in-law, Rev. Truman Munsell and Kenneth Kellogg.
