Of Clio, age 67, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at McLaren Regional Medical Center. As was typical of Bud even at his death he helped others, with his Gift of Life donation.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Friday, December 30, 2011, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Thursday evening, family friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. On Friday, family will receive friends at St. Mary Catholic Church from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, The American Heart Association or Charity of Choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Bud was born July 16, 1944, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude and Mary (Austin) Severn. He and Jeannine Laux were united in marriage September 19, 1970, at St. Mary in Mt. Morris. Bud worked at Buick for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the UAW # 599.
Left to cherish his memory are, wife of 41 years, Jeannine; two sons, Greg Severn and Jeff and wife, Denise Severn; two grandchildren, Connor and Sophia; brother, James and wife, Debbie Severn; two sisters, Sharon Hauser and Sandra and husband, Fred Edenburn; mother-in-law, Gloria Laux; four sisters-in-law, Cheryl Langworthy, Diane and husband, Randy Long, Julie and husband, Chuck Carter and Lori and husband, Darrel Crossen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Larry Laux.
