Obituary of Genevieve M. Bauer-Brown

Of Flint, age 94, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Genesys Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will take place, Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the St. MaryCatholic Church in Mt. Morris with burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday, 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday afternoon, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 2:00 pm. On Saturday morning, Genevieve will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary Altar Society or The North End Soup Kitchen. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Genevieve was born October 26, 1917, in Windom, Minnesota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben and Margaret (Tighe) Vaske. She and George Bauer were united in marriage June 3, 1941. He preceded her in death December 29, 1970. She would later marry Joseph Brown on February 8, 1975. He preceded her in death.
She was an elementary school teacher and an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris.
She leaves to cherish her memory, 10 daughters, Mary and husband, Dick Sherman, Carol and husband, Jim Anderson, Nancy and husband, Bruce Patterson, Betty Hodgeson, Sharon and husband, Bob Wilber, Bobbie and husband, Jerry Lynch, Jean and husband, Pat Hall, Judy and husband, Kenn Domerese, Cathy and husband, David Thrash, and Dorothy and husband, Arnie Warner; daughter-in-law, Rose Bauer; three sons, Matthew Bauer, James and wife, Kathy Bauer and Joe and wife, Peggy Bauer; 30 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; step-daughter, Marianne Baumgarten; two step-sons, Joseph and Robert Brown; two sisters, Mary Reiners and Mavis McCauley; five brothers, Clayton, Kenneth, Herb, Jim, and Bill; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and a host of friends.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Micheal; and three sisters and two brothers.
