Of Mt. Morris, age 67, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Genesys Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci and Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will con-celebrate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and again from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday evening, family, friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 5:00 pm. On Saturday, Lorraine will be taken to church where she will lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Mary Church or Genesee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Lorraine was born January 11, 1945, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William "Hugh" and Ruth (Williams) Chapman. She and John A. Trzil were united in marriage August 13, 1966, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Lorraine attended and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in June 1966. She worked for 41 and a half years as a registered nurse at St. Joseph and Genesys Hospitals. She retired in December 2007. Lorraine is a lifetime, active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris.
Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 45 years, John; siblings, Kay (Bill) Newlon, Doug (Sherry) Chapman, Mark Chapman, Beth Chapman, Karen (Ron) Murphy, Janice (Aaron) Wiles, Kim (David) Quinn and Craig (Stacy) Chapman; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Corinne Chapman; and special friend, Jo Evans.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the physicians and nursing staff of Genesys and Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute for their exceptional and loving care.
