Obituary of Oscar Junior Bartholomew

Of Clio, age 82, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at home. The funeral service will take place 10:00 am, Friday, April 6, 2012, at the North End Baptist Church in Mount Morris. Pastor Ted Stephens will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday, Oscar will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:00 am until time of service at 10:00 am. Oscar was born January 25, 1930, in Bronson, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar and Lucille (Wagner) Bartholomew. He and Shirley Fent were united in marriage October 31, 1947. Left to cherish his memory are five sons, Daniel and wife, Judy, Bob and wife, Priscilla, John and wife, Rachel, Richard and wife Teresa and Jerry and wife, Marilyn; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Bartholomew; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Brad and sister Wilma. The family would like to thank Genesys Hospice especially, Chris, Dan, Micki and Mary for all of their care and support.
