Obituary of Carla M. Jarema

Of Flint, age 82, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Peace River Regional Medical Center. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Monday, from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm. Monday night, family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 6:00 pm to pray the Rosary. Tuesday morning, Carla will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Catholic Social Service or The Krapohl Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Carla was born November 15, 1929, in Boyne City, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan and Dorothy (Allison) Nowland. She and Peter Jarema were united in marriage November 22, 1947. Carla was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and of the Altar Society. She enjoyed going up north and crafts. Carla leaves to cherish her memory, four sons, Michael and wife, Pamela Jarema, Thomas and wife, Sue Jarema, Edward Jarema, and Mark and wife, Cheryl Jarema; daughter, Kay and husband, Karl Roeske; eight grandchildren, Kim, Bryan, Todd, Krista, Tony, Adrienne, Karl, and Erik; nine great-grandchildren, Liam, Sophie, Grant, Claire, Tyler, Kaylee, Logan, Bailey, and Brayden; brother, Norman Nowland; special cousin, Wanita Jenkins; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, Peter; great-granddaugher, Courtney Boots; and sister-in-law, Jean Nowland.
