Obituary of Robert K. Freeman

Of Mt. Morris, age 85, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at his home. Cremation has taken place. The memorial service will take place 5:30 pm, Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with private burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral Wednesday, May 9, 2012, from 3:00 pm unil the time of service at 5:30 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Boy Scouts of America. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Robert was born September 16, 1926, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan and Anna (Spencer) Freeman. He and Deloris Keyser were united in marriage May 6, 1950; she preceded him in death February 19, 2012. Robert was the owner and operator of Freeman Pontiac in Mt. Morris for 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and bowling; he will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Tom and wife, Ronda Freeman, Jim and wife, Sally Freeman, Bill and wife, Sandy Freeman; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn and husband, Jess Miller and Maryann Churchill; and one brother, Chuck Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Deloris; and sister, Marilyn Harris.
