Blakney Earl Tomlinson, age 80, of Mt. Morris died, Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at his home. Funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services, with graveside Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #158. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 10:30 am until time of service at 12:00 noon. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Blakney was born August 15, 1931, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas and Theresa (Pfeifer) Tomlinson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, as a Corporal and Drill Sergeant. He and Peggy Tennant were united in marriage May 13, 1950. Blakney worked for Fisher Body Grand Blanc until his retirement, in 1988. He was a member of the UAW #1292 and the Masons Scottish Rite in Bay City.
Left to cherish his memory are three children, Sharon Kay and husband, Raymond Seifert, Donald Richard, and Scott Chris; three grandchildren, Carrie and husband, Matt Palmer, Brian Seifert and Jacquelyn Tomlinson; two great grandchildren, Brianna and Hannah Palmer; two sisters, Jane and Judy; brother, Nick; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy; two children, Blake Jr. and Annabelle Lee; and four brothers, Carl, Bill, Charlie and Harry.
