Obituary of Dorothy Mathenia

Age 81, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Genesys Convalescent Center. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, & Tribute Services with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm then on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Central Baptist Church. Dorothy was born December 19, 1932, in Steele, Missouri, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Ella (James) Talley. She and Richard Mathenia were united in marriage on July 25, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas. Sadly, he preceded her in death on January 6, 2007. In her free time Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and watching television. Left to cherish her memory are children, Richard and wife, Sue Mathenia, Ken and wife, Jan Mathenia, Deborah and husband, Mike Farver and Philip and wife, Faith Mathenia; grandchildren, Stacey Farver, Amy Farver, Karen Pann, Timothy Mathenia, Philip Michael Mathenia, Katlyn Mathenia and Evelyn Mathenia; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brittaney, Travis, Halley and Nate; sister, Lela King; many nieces; nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; grandchild, Antoinette; brothers, Frank (WO), Damon, James, Lilbourn, U.V. (Bean), and Charles.
