Obituary of Donna J. Kohn

Of Flint, age 76, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. The funeral service will take place 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 31, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm and Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the Genesys Hospice and The Arthritis Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Donna was born December 6, 1935, in Sherman Township, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Wilma (Bessey) Hull. She and Leighton Elwood Kohn were united in marriage June 14, 1952, in Bay City, Michigan. Donna's primary duty throughout life was taking care of her family and keeping up with the home. She loved being with her family, reading, crafting, spending time up north, snowmobiling, camping and watching nature. Left to cherish her memory are, her husband of 60 years, Leighton; four children, Gale Prieur with John Georgette, Wilma and husband, Bob Simms, Leighton Kohn with Aleshia DeCoe, and Mike and wife, JoAnne Kohn; six grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Eldon Faulkner, Gregory and wife, Kelly Prieur, Adam and wife, Andrea Prieur, Stacie and husband, Steve Mata, Michael, Jr. and wife, Samantha Kohn, Kaylyn Kohn and Taylor Evans; eight great-grandchildren, Zoe, Conner, Preston, Brayden, Maliah, Ella, Landon, and Colton; three siblings, Helen Nickerson, Wanda Ames, and Chuck Cessna; and extended family members, Teresa Barkman and Jeni Bolan. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Greg Prieur; and granddaughter, Leslie Simms.
