Obituary of Angeline Catherine McKerchie

Of Mt. Morris, age 95, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Hurley Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. On Wednesday evening, parish, family and friends will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. Memorial donations may be considered to St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Jean was born August 27, 1916, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Mary Talentino. She and Roy McKerchie were united in marriage in June 13, 1938. He preceded her in death September 12, 1998. She owned and operated J&R Catering for many years. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society and was Mother of the Year in 1987. Jean was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed cooking, baking and going to the casino with her family. Left to cherish her memory are son, Robert and wife, Rosalie McKerchie; two daughters, Judy and husband, Edward Gilkes and Neva Rosa; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Gilroy; brother, Frank and wife, Franny Talentino; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; son, James; two sisters; and four brothers.
