Obituary of David Robert Miller

Of Otisville, age 76, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm and Wednesday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. David was born February 23, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin and Bernice (Taylor) Miller. He and Lyda Decator were united in marriage May 28, 1959. He served his country in the United States Army from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1961. David worked as a lab technician at AC Spark Plug for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed flying his airplane, golfing, hunting and fishing. Left to cherish his memory, are wife of 53 years, Lyda; two daughters, Mary and husband, Jim Kinney and Alice Koski of Oregon; two grandsons, David Hutcheson and Kyle Koski; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Miller and Carol Miller; brother-in-law, Jim Long; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan A. Miller; two brothers, Bernard and Phillip Miller; and sister, Judy Long.
