Obituary of Raymond E. Staten

Of Vassar, age 72, died peacefully surrounded by his family, Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at St. Mary Hospital. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Monday, August 13, 2012, at the Martin Funeral Home -Vassar. Pastor Clint Cozier will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Monday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. On Sunday evening, family and friends will gather at the funeral home for an Eagles Service by Aerie #2380 at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ray was born August 17, 1939, in Virden, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ida (Clark) Staten. He and Jackie Brown were united in marriage in December of 1964. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding his trike, and walking his dog, Peanut. He was a member of the Vassar Eagles Aerie #2380 and the Tribesman Motorcycle Club in Fostoria. Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Bobby, Joey and Jeremiah, and wife, Jenn; step-son, Ricky Fultz and girlfriend, Jeannie Stakolosa; girlfriend, Frances Reyna; five grandchildren, Brett, Gabrielle, Drayden, Olivia and Khloee; three great-grandchildren, Christian, Aubrey and Joanna Ray; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jackie; infant son, Billy Joe; brother, Mickey; and three sisters, Betty, Shirley and Patty.
