Obituary of Muriel E. Lewis

Muriel Lewis was 89 and died Monday, August 13, 2012 at Cartwright Hospice in Saginaw, MI. The Funeral will be at the First United Methodist Church of Vassar (139 N. Main) at 11am on Thursday, August 16th. Burial will be at Riverside in Vassar. The family will be present during Viewing at the Martin Funeral Home 1148 W. Saginaw in Vassar 4-8pm on Wednesday and also 10-11am at the Church on Thursday. Muriel was born April 22, 1923, near Nashville, Tennessee, to Edward Grigsby Bracey and Iva Bracey. Muriel met Dwight T. Lewis when he was in Nashville as a soldier, and they married there at the end of WWII. He brought her to Vassar on Thanksgiving that year, almost 67 years ago. Muriel was predeceased by her husband, youngest son David, and siblings Mary Miller, Edward Grigsby, and Carlene. The remaining immediate family includes her sister Jeanne Thompson and her son Dwight T. Lewis, Jr. and his three sons: Kenton, Todd, and Drew and also son Edward Donald "Abe" Lewis and his wife Karen (Harrington), their daughter Hollie, and their daughter Heather and husband Tiger Harris, and their sons: Evan, Finn, and Kenan.
