Obituary of Linda Lou Kennard

Of Vassar and Burton, age 63, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with cremation to follow. Linda's family will receive family and close friends on Tuesday to receive friends from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Wednesday from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Linda was born July 1, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence and Nadine (Foskett) Carter. She and Gene E. Kennard were united in marriage March 25, 1977, in Vassar, Michigan. Linda was the best stay at home mom a family could have, she also worked at Greenely Square Manor in Burton for 3 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards with her grandson, listening to Elvis and dancing, crossword puzzles, knitting, coloring, shopping, garage sales, spending time at their second home in Vassar on the weekends, traveling Up North during the fall, bowling, watching Elvis and John Wayne movies and having family get togethers. Left to cherish her memory husband, Gene E. Kennard, two children; Gina Kennard, Larry Kennard and girlfriend, Dawn Grubbs; grandson, Aden Morrissey and his father, William Morrissey; sister, Deb and husband, Ed Lesko; three brothers; Mark Carter, Ronald Carter and girlfriend, Trish, Raymond and wife, Pam Carter; many nieces, nephews and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Jayden Burcham.
