Obituary of LaVieda Mary Ellis

ELLIS, LaVieda Mary Of Flint, age 102, died Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Homewood Village Assisted Living in Flint. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Mark Conn will officiate with burial to follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be considered to the First Baptist Church of Mt.Morris, Baptist Church of Davison, or Homewood Village. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. LaVieda was born March 24, 1910, in Wilson, Arkansas the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Bertha (May) Alexander. She and Ernest Ellis were united in marriage May 12, 1934. She worked for several years at Salles Children's Clothing in Flint. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bettelu and husband, Ronald Center Marilee Knorr, John and wife, Claudia Ellis and Michael and wife, Debra Ellis; grandchildren: LuAnne and husband, Thomas Martin, Melissa Ellis, Bethany and husband, Michael Onthank,Suzanne and husband, Larry Gritzinger, Molly Ellis, Michael and wife Peggy Ellis, Mathew Ellis, Craig Center, Mary Ellis, and Ryan Maynard; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; brother, Rex Alexander and sister, Johnnie Mary Watchorn.
