Obituary of James Edward Vessell

Of Clio, age 59, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place 3:00pm, Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the Birch Run Moose Lodge #2426 at 12326 Gera Rd. Birch Run, Michigan. Jim was born February 1, 1953, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer and Bessie (Valkoun) Vessell. He and Tina Johnson were united in marriage August 06, 1977. Jim graduated from E.A. Johnson High School in Mt. Morris Class of 1971. He worked for Buick for 31 years before retiring in 2003, and a member of UAW Local #599. In his free time Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially watching his three sons play sports, outdoor activities, coaching baseball, hunting, listening to music, golfing and playing fantasy football. Left to cherish his memory, wife, Tina Vessell; three sons: Brian and wife, Larissa Vessell, Gregory and girlfriend, Elicia Young, James and girlfriend, Amanda Babcock; four grandchildren: Easton Vessell, Gabe, Shania and Zaceri Young; one brother, Dann Vessell; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Leland Johnson, many aunts and uncles and best friend, Christopher and wife, Beth LaFramboise. Jim's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice for all their love and care.
