Obituary of Adelyn Pifer

age 78 of Clio died Friday, March 14, 2014, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Monday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Monday evening, family and friends will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. On Tuesday morning, Dayle will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Dayle was born on March 23, 1935, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the daughter of Frances and Dorothy (O'Toole) Smith. She and Kenneth Pifer were united in marriage on August 30, 1963. She worked as a administrative assistant and comptroller for Kraft Engineering for over 50 years. In her free time she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth; six children, Michael and wife, Margaret Pifer, Wayne and wife, Renee Pifer, Vicki and husband, Rick Wilson, Tom Hart, Gordon and wife, Diane Hart and Kevin Pifer; seven grandchildren, Lacey Pifer and fiance, Drew, Rachel Pifer, Michael Pifer, Shannon and husband, Brandon Leighton, Heather West, Matheu Hart, and Joshua Pifer and fiance, Andrea and Jessica Neuerburg; six great-grandchildren, Lily, Rylee, Landon and Brooklyn Leighton; Emma West and Jaxson Pifer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frances Smith; and sister, Doris White.
