Obituary of Wayne Victor Sakuta

Of Linden, age 72, died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Henry Ford Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 1:00 pm, Monday, October 15, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson will officiate. A private burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Wish Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Wayne was born September 27, 1940, in Yale, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sergeij and Margary (Cournya) Sakuta. Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He and Sheila L. (Bowles) DuShane were united in marriage April 22, 1995, in Las Vegas. Wayne worked for Culligan Water of Flint for 29 years, retiring in 2002. He currently worked as a driver for Carquest in Fenton. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sheila; six children, Veronica and husband, Joe Cooper, Michael Sakuta and wife, Nicole Harsch, Mark and wife, Janie DuShane, Stephanie and husband, Steve Thomas, Matt and Judy DuShane, and Christopher and wife, Kimberly DuShane; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; brother, Robert Sakuta; sisters, Judy and husband, Gary Dennis and Bonnie and husband, Bill Bonesteel; father-in-law, Richard Bowles; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and wife, Evelyn Bowles, Diane and husband, Bill Wall and Sandra Fick; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
