Obituary of Thomas Turpin

Of Mt.Morris, age 77, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his home. The funeral service will take place at 1:00pm , Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dan Shinaberger will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 1, at 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Thomas was born October 11, 1935 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David and Georgiana (Palmer) Turpin. Locally educated, he attended Mt.Morris High School before going to work for General Motors. Thomas later joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country for almost two years. His love for animals would then lead him to his career in dog grooming. Thomas enjoyed collected coins, gardening, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed collecting many other items and was known to find value in almost anything. Left to cherish his memory are sisters, Mary Jo and husband, Joseph Davis and Betty Napoli; Brother, Edward Turpin and wife, Landa; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Lonnie, tasha, and marie King, Paulette and Charlie, Dale Gugle, and many friends at the Mt.Morris McDonalds. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald and Donald, and sister, Jeanne.
