Obituary of Marie R. Ewing

Of Vassar, age 77, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Covenant Health Care - Cooper. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar with burial to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Marie's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Marie was born June 4, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Beatrice (Payne) Driscoll. She and Duane Ewing were united in marriage, December 10, 1955, in Randolph, Massachusetts. Marie graduated from Randolph High School in Massachusetts. Marie worked for the Vassar School District from 1968 to 1997 as a playground lady for many of those years before moving on to delivering food to the schools. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, camping, traveling, going to the casino. Left to cherish her memory, husband of 56 years, Duane; 6 children; Douglas (Marlene) Ewing, Norman (Jody) Ewing, Mark Ewing, Sharon (John) Lovelady, Darlene Palmerton, Glen Ewing; 15 grandchildren; Tiffany Ewing, April (Mitch) Earhardt, David Ewing, Devon Ewing, Kyle (Jane) Ewing, Nick (Terran) Ewing, Johnny Ewing, Amber Palmerton, Timmy Ewing, Ricky Ewing, Jennifer (Shane) Bock, Jonathon Buella, Natasha, Brandy and Jessie; 8 great-grandchildren; Joseph, Reese, Kole, Chase, Kieran, Lexie, Brock and Lily; 3 siblings, Harry (Joan) Driscoll, Claire Hedrick and Richard (Peggy) Driscoll. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, David Palmerton, brothers-in-law, Joe Hedrick, Lee Hilliger and Frank Ewing and sisters-in-law, Joann Ewing, Audrey Ewing and Doris Hilliger.
