Obituary of Lorene Shurter

Age 90, of Clio, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Maple Woods Manor. A memorial service is scheduled to take place 11:00 am Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Hopewell General Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Lorene was born March 17, 1924 in Holcomb, Missouri the daughter of Jesse and Frances (Pool) Fox. She married Edsel Shurter October 5, 1943. Sadly he preceded her in death on April 1, 1987. Lorene worked for General Motors for 16 years. In her free time she enjoyed singing, embroidering and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, David and wife, Dawn Shurter, Donald and wife, Eunetta Shurter from Arizona, and Muriel and husband, Jerry Smithwick; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and brother.
