Obituary of John F. Wegrzyn

Of Vassar, age 75, died Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Crest Haven. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Monday, November 12, 2012, at the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate with burial to follow in Tuscola Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Sunday evening, family, friends and parish will gather for a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 pm. Monday, John will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church or Hospice Advantage. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. John was born December 3, 1936, in Greenleaf Township, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Caroline (Kaleta) Wegrzyn. He and Carol Baldwin were united in marriage October 7, 1972. John worked at Super Foods/Nash Finch for over 40 years, retiring in 2000. He was a long time active member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years, Carol; two sons, Scott and wife, Kimberly and Timothy and wife, JoAnn; six grandchildren, Brian, Zachary, Nicholas, David, Andrew, and Megan; in laws, Chuck and Carolyn Baldwin; and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine Wasserman; and brother, Edward Wegrzyn.
