Obituary of Ruth H. Bice

Of Roscommon, formally of Flint; age 98, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Hilltop Manor Health Care Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Deacon Michael Dear will officiate with burial to follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. RuthAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 10:00am until 8:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the AlzheimerAaas Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ruth was born July 19, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Mary (Hosmar) Baumgart. She and Floyd J. Bice were united in marriage on May 29, 1931. She worked for the Flint Board of Education at the Sarvis Center for 33 years before retiring. Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Velma and husband, Robert Jackson, daughter-in-law, Darlene Bice, 8 grandchildren; Billy and wife, Claudia Struble, Charlotte, Shelia, Jimmy and wife, Jill Bice, Kathy and husband, Rich Firestone, Rob and wife, Tracey Jackson, David and wife, Karin Jackson, 10 great-grandchildren; Beverly Shepherd, Jessica, Andrea, and Jasmine Struble, Eric Bice, Robbie Jackson, Alex and Aidin Jackson, Aaron Johnson, Tianna Brown, several great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; one brother and two sisters; son, Robert; grandson, Eldon; and great-granddaughter, Sarah Ruth Bice.
