Obituary of Herbert Lake

Age 76, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, March 22, 2014. Cremation has taken place with a private burial of cremated remains in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Bert was born June 13, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Anson & Ethel (Quick) Lake. He married Charlotte Falk on May 26, 1958, in Holly, Michigan. Bert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from August 17, 1955, until he received his honorable discharge on August 14, 1959, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During his 4 years in the Marines, Bert earned his Good Conduct Medal. He worked for Fisher Body for 30 years; retiring in October 1989. Bert was a member of UAW Local #1292, attended the North End Baptist Church in Mt. Morris and he was also a Gift of Life donor. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and deer hunting. Left to cherish his memory, wife, Charlotte; son, Herbert, Jr. (Patti); three brothers, Norman (Cindra), Terry (Deby) and Roger (Nancy); sister, Jacqueline (Leroy) Beauregard; three grandchildren, Eric (Tammy), Bethany and Andrew; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Breanna, Quentin and Elijah; and many other family members and friends. Bert was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clyde and Gordie.
