Obituary of Mamie Lucie Pfeiffer

Of Vassar, age 100, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at her home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Martin Funeral Home - Vassar with cremation to follow. Mamie's family will be present at the funeral home on Friday to receive friends from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to West Forest United Methodist Church in Millington or to the Millington Historical Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Mamie was born December 16, 1912, in Litchfield, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ruth (Morrison) Church. She graduated from Wellington High School Class of 1929. She and Marion "Marty" A. Pfeiffer were united in marriage on March 5, 1932, in Elyria, Ohio. Sadly he preceded her in death on January 7, 1998. In 1954, Mamie founded Treasure Trove Antiques in Wellington, Ohio. restoring trunks and Victorian furniture until her retirement in 2004.
Mamie was the best mother-in-law anyone could ever have. She was the Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Stars in Wellington, Ohio, a member of the Millington Historical Society, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved traveling in their motor home all over the country attending antique shows and relaxing on the porch at night while drinking a beer.
Left to cherish her memory, two sons, Jerry "Brian" (Sharon G.) Pfeiffer and Dan Russell (Sharon A.) Pfeiffer; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, "Marty", three brothers, Glenn, Warren and Raymond Church.
