Obituary of Ilean Mann

of Mt. Morris, Michigan went home to be with Jesus on December 17, 2012. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, December 21, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris. Pastor Mark Conn will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will recieve friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday, Ilean will be taken to church to lie in state, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Ilean was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on January 8, 1916. She moved to the Flint area in 1934 with her husband of 57 years, Loman Mann. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1991. Ilean was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris, Michigan for over 50 years. She was also a member of the East Side Senior Center. She served as a Nurses Aide at St. Joseph Hospital years for 17 years and Flint Osteopathic Hospital for 3 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family. Ilean is survived by three daughters; Margie MacIntire, Wilma Jones and Judy Mann; 9 grandchildren; Charles Shanks, Nancy Wilson, Jeff Jones, Greg Jones, Patty Ortiz, Stephanie Coleman, Matthew Miller, Lisa Hayward, and Marcie Brewer; and many great and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loman; daughter, Dessie Whiteford; 3 infant daughters, Joyce, Karen and Susan; grandson David Shanks; 3 step-daughters and 3 step-sons.
