Obituary of Charles Edson

Of Clio, age 78, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his home. The funeral service will take place 3:00 pm, Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Charles' family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Friday from 12:00 noon until 7:00pm, Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of service at 3:00 pm. Shorty was born August 10, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland. He and Barbara were united in marriage February 20, 1954, in Flint. Shorty worked for General Motors for 41 years before retiring in January 1, 1995, he was a member of UAW Local #599. After retiring Shorty helped his son, Tim at All-Fab & Weld as the lead gopher. Shorty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening and was known for always being there when his friends and family needed him. Left to cherish his memory are, wife, Barbara; three children, Debra (Dan) Hill, Anita Axelrod-Gould, Timothy (Jill) Edson; grandson, Adam Axelrod; many other family members and friends; and his beloved bulldog, Boomer. Charles was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ellen Panks.
