Marietta was born November 13, 1926, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Antionette "Mary" (Giacalone) Fontaine. She and Edward Frank Love were united in marriage September 17, 1949, in Yuma, Arizona.
Marietta left a legacy of strong faith in God, love of family, honesty and hard work. If ever there was a book that best described her outlook of life, it was "The Giving Tree", by Shel Silverstein. Marietta was happiest when surrounded by family especially children. Each hug and kiss was given with unconditional love. Marietta's working years were spent at AC Spark Plug and Ternstedt in Flint and later, she retired from Welch Industries in Vassar, as a Quality Control Specialist.
Marietta enjoyed traveling and spent early retirement years in Alabama and California with her husband. She enjoyed the challenge of a good puzzle and a good card game. She loved gardening in her younger days and in later years enjoyed looking and watching things grow, especially grandchildren and her flowers.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, Edward; daughters, Antoinette "Toni" and husband, Dennis Kern and Licia and husband, Bob Bank; grandchildren, Joel and wife, Heather Kern, Micah and wife, Angie Kern, Anessa Rummel, Natalie Love, Gary and wife, Sarah Law, Eddie and wife, Roze Law and Steven Bank; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tony Fontana; and sisters, Martha Tate and Josephine Pfaff. The family would like to thank Hannah, Charney, Kim and Leisa, Marietta's compassionate caregivers who became part of our family.
