Obituary of Margaret McLavy

Of Mt. Morris, age 92, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at home. The funeral service will take place 3:30 pm, Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Tom Knight will officiate. Private burial will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Omer Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00 am until time of service at 3:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Faith Missionary Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Margaret was born June 30, 1920, in Sparr, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Anna (Schram) Clark. Margaret's family moved to Omer, Michigan, in 1932, where she attended school. She married Russell McLavy on August 1, 1936, in Omer. The couple moved to Flint in 1950. Margaret worked at AC Spark Plug for 20 years, retiring in 1972. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending time camping with her family. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Walt and wife, Phyllis McLavy and Robert and wife, Carol McLavy; nine grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; daughter, Maxine Greenman and sister, Sylvia Masson.
