Of Mt. Morris, age 90, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. KathrynAaas family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00pm to 9:00pm. On Sunday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 6:00pm. On Monday morning, she will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:0am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Kathryn was born November 10, 1918 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard and Ruth (Kennedy) Weaver. She and Paul J. Lefurgey were united in marriage October 6, 1938. He preceded her in death April 19, 1996. Kathryn was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris and was a member of the Altar Society for many years. Her great passion in life was in being a mom and taking care of her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are son, Paul M. Lefurgey, three daughters; Ruth Ann and husband Peter Gaylord, Dianne and husband Ronald Blake, Martha R. Lefurgey, grandchildren; Laurie and husband Brad Salow, Lynn and husband Mel Harrison, Paul and wife Tami Lefurgey, Mathew and wife Mary Lefurgey, Kristi and husband Mark Porell, Lindsay and husband Jerome White, Lisa and Jamie Cochran, David Shegos and partner Kelley Preseau, 15 great-grandchildren, including AaA"Punkin and Sweetie,AaA two sisters; Marjorie Popovits and Barbara and husband Art Sokolowski, numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul, and a sister, Dorothy Roach.
