Obituary of Dorothy B. Fisher

Of Clio, age 91, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Avalon Hospice. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Hopewell General Baptist Church in Flint. Rev. Scott Southerland will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. On Saturday, Dorothy will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hopewell General Baptist Church Children's Ministries. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Dorothy was born June 14, 1921, in Bremen, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel and Blanche (Haught) Swallow. She and Earl Fisher were united in marriage August 8, 1942, in Evart, Michigan. Left to cherish are her children, Mary and husband, Dennis Iski, Terry and wife, Jacky Fisher and Cheryl and husband,LaVerne Morse; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; sister, Kathaleen White and brother, Lloyd Swallow.
