Obituary of Carol Jean Thompson

Of Flint, age 54, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at University of Michigan Health System. A Life Celebration will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Mr. Mark Thompson will officiate with cremation to follow. A private burial will take place at a later date in West Vienna Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Eastern Michigan Food Bank or her Grandchildren's College Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Carol was born April 23, 1958 in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas and Eleanor (Dykstra) Weaver. She and Ken Thompson were united in marriage May 5, 1990. Carol worked as the Deputy Clerk for Vienna Township for twelve years. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Ken; two children, Dan and wife, Beth Thompson and Kim Thompson; five grandchildren, Parker, Grayson, Chase, Gavin, and Annabell Jean; mother, Eleanor Weaver; brother, Doug and wife, Janelle Weaver; sister, Susan and husband, Ken Malcolm; brother-in-law, David Thompson; sister-in-law, Lori and husband, Kip Miller; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her dad.
