Obituary of Donna Jean Martin

Of Mt. Morris, age 69, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at McLaren-Flint. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, February 1, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Tom Forgo will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the McLaren Cancer Institute. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Donna was born February 10, 1943, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Noveda (Adams) Phillips. She and Freddie Neal Martin were united in marriage June 20, 1964. Donna was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family, camping and going up north. Donna was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #457, where she served as Past Matron. Left to cherish her memory is husband of 48 years, Fred; three children, Delena and husband, Tom Forgo, Jon and wife, Karen Martin, and Stephanie and husband, Brian Goss; eight amazing grandchildren, Rachel, Patrick, Sarah, Darcy, Ryan, Jonathon, Travis, and Preston; sister, Vanessa Herrera; nephew, Chris and wife, Aura Phillips and their family, Charles, Lexi, Summer and Cassie-Rose; mother-in-law, Erma Neal Martin; and many nieces, nephews brothers and sisters-in-law, and special friends. She was preceded in death by parents; three sisters, Nora, Bobbie and Rosalie; and brother, James.
