Obituary of Melody Lynn Dougherty

Of Flint, age 55, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014. A memorial service will take place 6:00 pm, Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris with cremation to follow. Melody's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 3:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family fund. Envelops are available at the funeral home. Melody was born May 12, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce & Janet (Clark) Mills. She attended Flint Southwestern High School. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Chrissy (Jim Ouellette) Watkins and Mike (Ashley Waller) Bates; family friend, Larry Watkins; six grandchildren, Felicia and husband, Aaron, Curtis, Skyler, Michael, MaKenna and MaKenna; great-grandson, Blake; three siblings, Doug, Teresa and husband, Glen and Tracey; four nieces and nephews, Andy, Ashley, Alesha and Aaron; great niece, Annalisa; father, Bruce; and long time family friend, Mike Dougherty; and many other family members and friends. Sadly Melody, was preceded in death by her mother Janet, two sisters, Susan and Julie and her boyfriend, Lonny Thomas.
