To Grandma, Mom and the rest of the family. Grandpa was a great man and touched the lives of countless people throughout the years. I wish so much that I could be there, it kills me knowing that I am not going to be able to make it. I know you understand, but that doesn't make it any easier. I send my Love and you are in my thoughts. I'm going to miss the "old top" that's for sure. I will always remember church camp with him and to this day I still "flood" my cereal with milk because he taught me that when I was just a boy durring one of the many fun times I spent visiting. I know Grandma Helmer has found him and she will take care of him. He has plenty of new ears now that get to hear all of his great (yet sometimes long) stories. He will always be in my heart and I know he will always be in yours. I Love You Grandpa

I will always remember J.W. Smith since I was a little girl. He was a \ pillar of Hopewell and it was always good to see his faithful face there when I visited. He may not have known how good it was to see a man that has continued...and maintained his faithfulness to God and his church.\ It isn't easy to see the seasons change.
