Obituary of Edward Lesko

Of Vassar, age 86, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at his home. The funeral service will take place 10:00 am Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Sister Ellen Rinke will officiate with burial to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Monday February 18, 2013 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:00. A vigil service will be held on Monday at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Family Fund or Hospice of donor's choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Edward was born August 3, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Mary (Krol) Lesko. He and Marleah Chardon were united in marriage February 23, 1948 in Caro, Michigan. Edward attended Drafting Trade School in Detroit and was employed at United Plastics in Vassar for 35 years retiring in 1984. Edward liked to fish, work on his hobby farm, do woodworking, and was a meticulous tinker. He was a member of the Mayville VFW Post #10884. He was a great friend to his neighbors, enjoyed gardening and loved to party. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Jennifer and husband Keith Lawrence; Edward and wife Debra Lesko; Dennis Lesko and friend Rheta Betz; Matthew and wife Jeanette Lesko; Deanna and husband Scott Martin; and Leona Kaiser; 25 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; and sister Julie Kopczyk. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Marleah; parents Joseph and Mary; sisters Josephine and Jennie; grandson Steven Lesko; niece Karen and nephew Ronnie.
