Obituary of Betty R. Holbin

Of Clio, age 85, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Cremation has taken place. Betty's family will gather at the Elizabeth's Flowers, the Chapel Floral Shop on Sunday, April 14, 2013, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm with burial to follow at West Vienna Township Cemetery at a later date. Those desiring may consider making donations to their favorite charity in Betty's memory. Betty was born November 27, 1927, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Elizabeth (White) Holbin. She worked at AC for 45 years before retiring on April 30, 1991. She was a self taught drummer and harmonica player that played in several local bands, she loved bowling and won many trophies, in her free time you could find her designing floral arrangements and making bows for Elizabeth's Flowers the Chapel Floral Shop, deer and pheasant hunting in her younger years. She was member of UAW 651 for 45 years. During WWII Betty was a member of the Civil Air Patrol Surveilence Team and a past Cub Scout Troop Leader. Left to cherish her memory, four siblings; Marion Crane, Harry "Jack" Holbin, Gary Holbin and Larry (Betty) Holbin; nieces and nephews, Lynn Holbin, Linda Beebee, Jackie (David) Slieger, Kelly (Marco) Sprudtti, Tim (Dana) Bovee, Cindy (Paul) Haynes; special friends, Rose (Bob) McKerchie and many other family members and friends. Betty's family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Geneseys Regional Medical Center, her family doctor, Dr. Jonathon Arbogast, "Dr. Jenni", Dr. Misera, niece Jackie Slieger, RN. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, Nancy (Eugene) Bovee, Terry Holbin, niece Kathy Huffman and nephew Robin Holbin, sister-in-law Hilda Holbin and brother-in-law Jack Crane.
