Obituary of Betty Ann Archer

Of Millington, age 77, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at McLaren-Flint. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Richey will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Monday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Betty was born December 1, 1935, in Black Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orris and Winnie (Sims) Richey. She and Athern Archer were united in marriage November 22, 1967, in Flint, Michigan. Betty worked for Genesee Intermediate School District as a Head Start Teacher throughout Genesee County. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and taking care of her animals. Left to cherish her memory are four children, Mary and husband, Tom Rasmussen, Jim and wife, Karen Jones, Celia Archer, and Athern and wife, Susan Archer; seven grandchildren, Tony Wood, Brandon Gregory, Amber Gugin, Nicole Jones, Lyndsey Archer, Sarah Jones and Nicholas Archer; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Hayden Wood; two brothers; and one sister. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Athern; and one brother and one sister.
