Obituary of Robert Edwin Goforth

Of Mt. Morris, age 80, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Briarwood Manor. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Flint Memorial Park Chapel in Mt. Morris. Pastor Anthony Ferriell will officiate with burial to follow. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm. The family will then process to the cemetery for a chapel service at 1:00 pm. Robert was born November 25, 1932, in Wilson, Arkansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lytle and Effie (Lane) Goforth. He and Gloria Maskill were united in marriage September 10, 1954. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for 31 years at Turnsted before retiring in 1979. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and his dogs. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Gloria; children, Gary Goforth, Carol and husband, Wayne Jackson, Helen and husband, Gerald Plamondon Jr.; six grandchildren, Erica, Jordan and Morgan Goforth, Rachel and husband, Matthew Hoffman, Joshua and Holly Plamondon; great-grandson, Julius Goforth; sister, Mary and husband, Bill Degase; two brothers, Lowell Goforth and John and wife, Donna Goforth; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ella-Mae Shifley, Bud Goforth, and James Goforth.
