Of Flint, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, April 8, 2013, at Avalon Hospice. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Ron Emmerling and Pastor Carl Petty will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Central Baptist Church or Avalon Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Mozelle was born December 10, 1918, in Paragould, Arkansas the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Beulah (Gothard) Smith. She worked as a nurse at Sonoma Valley Hospital in Sonoma, California, before returning to Flint and making her home. She and Everett Mayle were united in marriage October 22, 1993. Mozelle was a faithfull member of Central Baptist Church in Flint, where she served her church in a variety of ways. She enjoyed spending time with her family, which included her close friends at Mince Manor and Central Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Stellave Foust; brother-in-law, Bobby Black; nieces; nephews; step daughters; step grandchildren; and her special bird, "Little Bird".
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; sister, Joy Black; and two nephews, Jack Foust and David Black.
The family would like to thank the staff of Willowbrook Manor, Avalon Hospice, and Dr. Larry Braver for the care given to Mozelle during her illness, and to the Rev. Ron Emmerling and Rev. Carl Petty for the spiritual guidance always given to Mozelle.
