Obituary of Mary Boka-Zitterkoph

Of Flushing, age 96, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at her home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, April 19, 2013 at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday April 18, 2013 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm then on the day of service from 10:00 am until the time of service. Mary was born March 8, 1917 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Elizabeth Police. She and Steven Boka were united in marriage in 1936. She worked for the Flint Community Schools as a cook for 17 years. In her free time Mary enjoyed cooking hungarian food for her family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends, and she always loved spending time gardening. Left to Cherish her memory are sons, John and wife, Beverly Boka, Leonard and wife, Gloria Boka; daughter, Beverly and husband, Joseph Pellens; six grandchildren, Robert Boka, Darin Boka, Matthew Courts, Lynn Busher, Bradley Courts, and Brian Courts, eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Steven Boka; second husband, John Zitterkoph; five sisters; and six brothers.
