Obituary of Dorothy A. Wenzel

Of Vassar, age 71, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at South Bay Hospital in Florida. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Vassar First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Clint Cozier will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday, Dorothy will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Vassar Lions Club. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Dorothy was born May 21, 1941, in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Lucille (Decker) Wenzel. She worked in the retail industry until her retirement. In her free time, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, doing crafts, and going to the casino. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Diane and husband, Roger Daenzer; grandsons, Gabriel and Garrett Daenzer; sister, Joyce and husband, Marvin Zucker; nephew Stephen and wife, Erin Zucker and their daughters; several dear cousins; lifelong friend, Maxine Dallaire; and many special friends at Manor Ridge Apartments, Vassar First Presbyterian Church and TOPS of Vassar. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Neil Neuenfeldt.
